The Capital Interlude

A day held open in Delhi before the flight to Udaipur, absorbing whatever hour an international arrival lands without costing a day in the field. Spend the morning at the Qutub Minar, or simply rest. Tomorrow we fly toward the granite hills of Jawai.

Naturalist's Strategy "The Gear Calibration: Before the wilderness circuit begins, this is your last day with soft lighting and stable Wi-Fi. Use it to calibrate - format memory cards, test long lenses against a static subject (the sandstone jaalis of Humayun's Tomb work well for focus-tracking practice), and pack the day bag you'll actually carry in the field. If jet lag allows, the diffused midday light in Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk rewards street photography - high ISO tolerance over precision, since the frame is about density and motion, not the surgical detail the parks will demand."
