A day held open in Mumbai before the flight to the peninsula, absorbing whatever hour your international arrival lands. Walk the Gateway of India and Marine Drive at your own pace, or rest at the hotel. Tomorrow we fly toward the last wild lions of Asia, in Gir.

Breakfast with a sea view, taken slowly - the last coastal skyline before the itinerary turns inland.

Dinner at an old-school Irani cafe or a coastal Konkan restaurant - Mumbai's food identity in one sitting, before regional lodge cuisine takes over.
The Lion Fortress
A morning flight to the peninsula. We enter the Gir forest by afternoon. Our first safari focuses on the riverine patches where the lions retreat during the midday heat.

A specialized dawn patrol on the edge of the mudflats. We search for the Indian Gray Wolf and the rare Lesser Florican. The light here is clinical; we use it to create high-art silhouettes.

A final morning drive in Velavadar before transiting to Ahmedabad for the flight to Mumbai. We return to our private coastal residency for a final de-brief, gear-cleaning session, and a celebratory farewell dinner before your late-night international transfer.
