A rugged terrain of sandstone hills and tropical mixed forest. Bandhavgarh holds the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers in the world, centered around an ancient 2,000-year-old fort.
Flora & Fauna
A mix of moist deciduous Sal forest and mixed forest with high bamboo density. Home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, and a resurgent population of Gaur (Indian Bison).
Photography Strategy
Bandhavgarh is "Vertical." Use the rocky ledges as natural frames. Tigers here often rest on sandstone outcrops; a 400mm lens with a fast aperture is ideal for separating the cat from the complex forest background.
